| Language and Culture | | | | Montfort Long-Term Care Centre offers an environment promoting a French-Canadian character while remaining sensitive to other cultures and customs. The Centre provides a living environment in French. General communications to all residents are in French. Social and recreational activities will be planned in French to ensure the provision of a French milieu. Individual communication with each resident or their family members is in their language of preference.Main signage and, when possible, postings are in both French and English but French having precedence. Staff will be able to address all residents in their language of preference. We will ensure that bilingual staff are available, on each shift, to address residents in English upon request.The Centre will also take appropriate measures to respect cultures and customs of other cultural groups and will adapt to the best of its capacity and resources to other linguistic groups. | | |
